Football Recap: Westside Seminoles vs. Jackson Red Devils
Westside came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Jackson Red Devils, falling 42-13. The Seminoles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Westside's loss came despite strong showings from Jaiden Stephens and Justin Releford. Stephens rushed for 124 yards and one score on only eight carries, while Releford rushed for 43 yards. Stephens has become a key player for the Seminoles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-6 otherwise.
A big part of Jackson's victory came down to the chemistry between Canaan Bernhardt and his top target Jaison McCall. Bernhardt threw for 261 yards and a pair of TDs on only 17 passes while McCall picked up 144 receiving yards. Westside's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Jackson, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
