Softball Recap: Browne Takes a Loss

Browne extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 4-14. They lost 11-0 to the Dobson Mustangs. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bruins haven't been shut out since back in March.

As for Dobson, their win bumped their record up to 10-12. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Dobson's part, Allie Hanson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Hanson has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nikole Torres, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lilly Flick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and four runs.

As of now, neither Browne nor Dobson have any future games scheduled.
