Basketball Preview: Raleigh Charter Phoenix vs. East Wake Academy Eagles
Raleigh Charter has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the East Wake Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Raleigh Charter and the Eagles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Friday, Raleigh Charter took a serious blow against the Firebirds, falling 78-42. Raleigh Charter has not had much luck with the Firebirds recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, East Wake Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Research Triangle by a score of 62-53 on Saturday. The victory was just what East Wake Academy needed coming off of a 78-31 loss in their prior matchup.
Raleigh Charter dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for East Wake Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Raleigh Charter came up short against the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January, falling 50-38. Can Raleigh Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
