Softball Game Preview: Mount Greylock Regional Mounties vs. Taconic Thunder

The Mount Greylock Regional Mounties will challenge the Taconic Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Mount Greylock Regional managed to slip by Turners Falls the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mounties came up short against the Thunder on Tuesday, falling 9-1.

Mount Greylock Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrianna Pelkey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Taconic lost 12-5 to Frontier Regional on Tuesday.

Mount Greylock Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Taconic, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Mount Greylock Regional skirted past Taconic 9-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Mounties have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
