There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Big Showdown
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Bethel Park (4th in the power rankings) took on Mt. Lebanon (14th) last week. Bethel Park took its game by a score of 34 - 24. Even if it didn't bump it up the rankings, the win at least kept team from dropping.
Upcoming Drama
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Derry (25th in the power rankings) and Quaker Valley (3rd). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Both the Derry and Quaker Valley defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging 11 ppg and 13 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
Upcoming Drama
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Bethel Park (4th in the power rankings) and Penn Hills (11th). This will be the second consecutive road game for Penn Hills. It has never lost back-to-back this season, but Bethel Park hopes to show it that there is a first time for everything.
Upcoming Drama
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between South Fayette (34th in the state) and West Mifflin (206th). South Fayette will be strutting in after a win while West Mifflin will be stumbling in from a defeat. We'll see if South Fayette can add another positive mark to its record or if West Mifflin can shake its loss and take the spring out of South Fayette's step.
