Baseball Recap: Overland Comes Up Short

Overland couldn't beat DSST: Montview on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Trailblazers came up short against the Knights, falling 18-7. The Trailblazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Overland saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Weber, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The Trailblazers are 7-1 when Weber posts two or more runs, but 0-14 otherwise. Another was Ruben Luna, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Overland has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for DSST: Montview, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.

Looking ahead, Overland will host Bruce Randolph at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DSST: Montview, they will head out to square off against Hinkley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Thunder at the right time seeing as the Thunder are stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
