Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Royall

Royall extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 5-2 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs a 5-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Melrose-Mindoro, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but Royall's pitchers proved too tough.

For Melrose-Mindoro's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Herzberg, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Coming up, Royall is taking a road trip to square off against Brookwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Melrose-Mindoro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alma Center Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
