Soccer Game Preview: Trinity Christian vs. Troup County

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Trinity Christian challenge Troup County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trinity Christian has three straight victories, Troup County has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Trinity Christian had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Upson-Lee on Tuesday. Trinity Christian never let Upson-Lee get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Upson-Lee with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kennedi Pitts, Libby Clark, and Lily Hayes.

Meanwhile, Troup County fell victim to Spalding and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Jaguars.

Trinity Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Troup County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went Trinity Christian's way against Troup County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Trinity Christian made off with a 13-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Christian since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
