Softball Recap: Timber Creek Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Timber Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past the Lake Mary Rams 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since April 26, 2024.

Gabbi Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Rowyn Joyce was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Naomi Pette, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Timber Creek's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Lake Mary, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timber Creek will venture away from home to square off against Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timber Creek is facing Oviedo at the right time seeing as Oviedo is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lake Mary, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hagerty at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hagerty will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
