Questa is 2-8 against Mora since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Rangers/Rangerettes at 3:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
27 must be Questa's lucky number: they beat Mesa Vista with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 27-4 win. Considering the Wildcats have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Carlos Ortega was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and four runs. Questa is 4-1 when Ortega posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Questa got a massive performance out of Aliyah Santistevan, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Santistevan has posted over his last 13 games. Another player making a difference was James Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Questa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.6.
Mora hadn't beaten Questa on the road since April 30, 2024 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Rangers/Rangerettes walked away with a 17-13 victory over the Wildcats.
Questa is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Mora, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.
Questa came up short against Mora in their previous meeting on Monday, falling 17-13. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
