There's no place like home for Newcastle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wheatland Bulldogs on Saturday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dogies have posted since September 5th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (102-95) Newcastle actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 13-25, 17-25, 15-13.

Adalyn Olson paced Newcastle's offense, picking up 17 kills. Olson got some help from Kyndal Von Eye and her 39 assists. Finally, Delainey Dresen kept Newcastle's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Newcastle's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Wheatland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Coincidentally, Newcastle and Wheatland will both be playing Douglas the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will host the Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dogies will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
