Soccer Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Meridian

It's playoff time, and Meridian had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the William Monroe Dragons a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. It was an even better day for Fletcher Saaty as he scored four goals for his team.

The victory (which was Meridian's third in a row) raised their record to 14-2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for William Monroe, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6-2.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for William Monroe, they will venture away from home to take on Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopewell will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something William Monroe surely won't give up without a fight.
