Basketball Game Preview: Payson Longhorns vs. Glendale Prep Academy Griffins

The Payson Longhorns and the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Payson's defense has only allowed 26.9 points per game this season, so Glendale Prep Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Payson's tournament run continued when they took on Odyssey Institute on Thursday. Payson breezed by Odyssey Institute to the tune of 61-4. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 27 points or more this season.

Hannah Sarnowski was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cheyenne McLellan, who posted seven points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Glendale Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They managed a 40-35 win over Horizon Honors.

The victory made it two in a row for Payson and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Glendale Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
