Basketball Recap: South Lake Comes Up Short

South Lake has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marysville Vikings. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cavaliers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Vikings are ranked 404th).

South Lake's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-6. As for Marysville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

South Lake has already played their next matchup (against Port Huron Northern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marysville will look to defend their home court on Monday against Croswell-Lexington at 7:00 p.m.
