Basketball Recap: Benet Academy's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Benet Academy entered their contest against St. Patrick on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Benet Academy Redwings took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Patrick Shamrocks. The game marked the Redwings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Benet Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-3. As for St. Patrick, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Benet Academy and St. Laurence will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. St. Laurence knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Benet Academy likes a good challenge. As for St. Patrick, they will take on Rich Township at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
