Softball Recap: Mission College Prep's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Mission College Prep hadn't done well against St. Joseph recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Royals walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Knights. This was a revenge game for the Royals: when they faced off against the Knights on April 9th, they had to take a 11-0 loss.

Landrie Hinrichs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dani Rivas, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie D'Orazio-Lelli, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Mission College Prep's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for St. Joseph, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mission College Prep will face off against rival Lompoc at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph is set to challenge their familiar foe Arroyo Grande at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
