Jay dropped down to 4-9 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a blow against the McDonald County Mustangs, falling 60-25. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 272nd in Oklahoma, while the Mustangs are ranked 48th in Missouri).

As for McDonald County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 28 points or more this season.

McDonald County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dakota O'Brien, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. The contest was O'Brien's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jamie Washam, who posted eight points along with 12 rebounds and five assists.

Jay has already played their next game, a 54-44 loss against Grove on the 23rd. As for McDonald County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-42 defeat against Kansas on the 23rd.
