Soccer Recap: Portage Comes Up Short

If Portage was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Hammond Morton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell just short of the La Porte Slicers by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Portage were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as La Porte apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Esteban Macias and Tyler Giangiulio scored all three of Portage's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Portage's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for La Porte, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7-1.

Portage didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-3 draw against Wheeler on the 29th. As for La Porte, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 2-2 draw against South Bend Riley on the 25th.
