Basketball Recap: Sylacauga Takes a Loss

Sylacauga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost to the Briarwood Christian Lions on the road by a 44-25 margin. While losing is never fun, the Aggies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Lions are ranked 69th).

Emma Kerley was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for Briarwood Christian. Kerley has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Ann Tatum Baker was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Sylacauga's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Briarwood Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Sylacauga nor Briarwood Christian have any future games scheduled.
