Baseball Recap: Alpena Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Alpena finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Traverse City West Titans by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

With the loss, Alpena broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for Traverse City West, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Alpena didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-5 victory against Boyne City on the 23rd. As for Traverse City West, they will take on Sault Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
