Baseball Recap: Bisbee Triumphs

Bisbee proved they can win big last Monday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Tombstone Yellow Jackets 4-3. The Pumas haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Sebastian Lopez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Horacio Olivarria, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Bisbee pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tombstone, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bisbee will welcome Morenci at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bisbee is facing Morenci at the right time seeing as Morenci is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tombstone, they will host Tanque Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Tombstone's pitchers better be ready for this one: Tanque Verde has averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season.
