North Stanly extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 7-12. They never let the Union Academy Cardinals get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Comets: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in March, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

North Stanly's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lainey Bowers, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As for Union Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-6. Cardinals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against North Stanly since Wednesday.

On Union Academy's side, Avery Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. Wilson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

North Stanly didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 defeat against South Stanly on the 30th. Union Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
