MaxPreps Top 25 Regional High School Football Computer Rankings: South Region

Four new teams entered the MaxPreps South Region Football Computer Rankings this week, but the top five teams remained the same.

Starkville (Miss.) held on to the top spot after an opening-round win in the Class 6A state playoffs in Mississippi while Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) finished the regular season undefeated and comes in a strong No. 2.

The four new teams this week include First Coast (Jacksonville, Fla.) at No. 14, McDonogh (Owing Mills, Md.) at No. 15, Byrd (Shreveport, La.) at No. 19 and Oakland (Murfreesboro, Tenn.). All four teams have previously been in the rankings but were new this week.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings. The South region includes teams from Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
