Baseball Recap: Hackettstown Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hackettstown put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Kittatinny Regional Cougars as they made off with a 13-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 last Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Joey Rowinski, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Jacob Echandy was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Hackettstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Hackettstown pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Kittatinny Regional, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackettstown will welcome Delaware Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kittatinny Regional, they will square off against Hopatcong at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
