Baseball Game Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. Windward Wildcats

The Paraclete Spirits will challenge the Windward Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Paraclete's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Windward has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Paraclete proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Sierra Canyon get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spirits have posted since February 24th.

Carlo Ramirez looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Paraclete is 2-1 when Ramirez allows two or fewer hits, but 8-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Paraclete saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Longobardi, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Windward came up short against Culver City on Monday, falling 8-1.

Paraclete has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Windward, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Paraclete came out on top in a nail-biter against Windward in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Spirits have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
