Baseball Recap: Fillmore Takes a Loss

Fillmore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Channel Islands Raiders. The Flashes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Fillmore saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Avila, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Avila a new career-high. Miguel Rincon was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Fillmore's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-8. As for Channel Islands, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

While Fillmore had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
