Baseball Game Preview: Latta Vikings vs. Lake View Wild Gators

The Latta Vikings will face off against the Lake View Wild Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Latta will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Latta is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Lake View as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Seth Minshew made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Byrd, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Latta pushed their record up to 20-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Lake View, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
