Football Recap: Salesian Skates Past Hemet with Ease

There's no place like home for Salesian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Hemet Bulldogs 48-0 on Friday.

Leading Salesian to victory were J Anthony Cobb and Marty Slye. Anthony Cobb rushed for 104 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, while Slye threw for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes.

Salesian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jayden Zepeda, Arthur Gonzalez, and Isaiah Hernandez, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Salesian's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games. As for Hemet, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Salesian will face off against Bishop Alemany at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hemet, they will square off against Carter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
