Field announced for Beach Ball Classic

Seven teams to make first appearance in the prestigious South Carolina tournament.

Meet high school basketball's top prospect in the Class of 2020.

Annually one of high school basketball's most competitive tournaments, the Beach Ball Classic announced its 2018 field Monday night.

The 38th edition of the event will take place Dec. 26-30 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

2018 Beach Ball Classic participants: Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.), Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.), Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.), Christian Academy (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), Cox Mill (Concord, N.C.), Florence (Miss.), Myrtle Beach (S.C.), North Crowley (Fort Worth, Texas), North Little Rock (Ark.), North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, N.C.), Scott County (Georgetown, Ky.), Socastee (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), University (Morgantown, W.Va.), Westchester (Los Angeles), Yates (Houston)

The field will feature seven teams making their first appearance in the prestigious event – Archbishop Stepinac, Christian Academy, Florence, North Crowley, North Mecklenburg, University and Yates.

Bishop O'Connell, Christ the King, Cox Mill, North Little Rock, Scott County, St. Edward and Westchester are all back after participating in 2017.



Top 100 prospects expected to play include R.J. Davis and Adrian Griffin Jr. of Archbishop Stepinac, Jaelyn Withers of North Mecklenburg, Wendell Moore of Cox Mill and Moses Moody of North Little Rock.
