Softball Recap: Martin County's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Martin County's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers on Wednesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Gators were not able to get on the board.

Erica Sturgill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

Martin County's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Martin County has already played their next match (against Perquimans), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, they have also already played their next game, an 11-8 win against Pungo Christian Academy on the 15th.
