The Youngker Roughriders will challenge the Buckeye Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Youngker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Buckeye will be up against a hot Youngker squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Youngker's pitcher stepped up to hand La Joya Community a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Roughriders, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Matthew Carroll tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Carteno, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Youngker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Buckeye came up short against Desert Edge on Thursday and fell 8-3. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Scorpions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maddox Villegas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Youngker's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Buckeye, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything went Youngker's way against Buckeye in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Youngker made off with a 19-1 victory. Does Youngker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buckeye turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
