Archbishop Wood has gone 8-1 against Conwell-Egan Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Archbishop Wood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Wednesday, Archbishop Wood needed a bit of extra time to put away Neumann-Goretti. They had just enough and edged out the Saints 6-5.

Archbishop Wood got a great performance from Richie Bayachek as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, AJ Hopkins was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Jimmy Casey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Conwell-Egan Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 14-4 to Cardinal O'Hara.

Tommy KaliTa and Sean McGovern did some serious damage despite the final result: Kalita went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while McGovern scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That double was Kalita's first of the season.

Conwell-Egan Catholic's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Archbishop Wood, their record now sits at 6-0.

Archbishop Wood couldn't quite finish off Conwell-Egan Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
