Basketball Game Preview: Rolla Bulldogs vs. Jefferson City Jays

The Rolla Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Jefferson City Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Rolla is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering De Smet Jesuit just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Spartans, falling 80-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Jefferson City had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They strolled past the Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 73-58.

Rolla's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Jefferson City, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Rolla didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jefferson City in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with an 89-83 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rolla since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
