Baseball Recap: Astoria/VIT Takes a Loss

Astoria/VIT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars. The Rebels were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Astoria/VIT saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Shaw, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI was Shaw's first of the season.

Astoria/VIT's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Astoria/VIT will host Farmington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they will square off against Brown County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
