Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for Owensboro Catholic

Owensboro Catholic put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Calloway County Lakers a 1-0 shutout. The Aces haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jaxson White looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Parker Heistand was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Owensboro Catholic pushed their record up to 17-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Calloway County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Owensboro Catholic is taking a road trip to take on Madisonville-North Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Aces' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Maroons have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Calloway County, they will take on McCracken County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
