American Canyon has gone a perfect 3-0 against Redwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wolves will welcome the Giants at 4:00 p.m. American Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
American Canyon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 22 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Vintage on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the Crushers. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Crushers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Jayden De Los Santos was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Redwood had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-1 victory. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Lily Cox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Hailey Carlton was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashley Ball, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Redwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Redwood pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for American Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. American Canyon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Redwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
