Basketball Recap: Allen Piles Up the Points Against Stonewall

Allen entered their tilt with Stonewall on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Stonewall Longhorns 76-38. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 32 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Allen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cherish Woodward, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Woodward now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Addison Prentice, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 17 points and six boards.

Allen pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points over those games. As for Stonewall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Allen and Stonewall should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Allen (ranked 41st) will meet Tishomingo (ranked 201st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Allen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season. Similarly, Stonewall will challenge Konawa at 6:30 p.m. on Monday up 227 places (146 vs. 373).
