Basketball Game Preview: Chase County Longhorns vs. Holyoke Dragons

The Chase County Longhorns will face off against the Holyoke Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chase County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Chase County easily dispatched Hershey on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Chase County fell just short of Perkins County by a score of 57-54 on Saturday.

Despite their loss, Chase County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Noah Rau, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Camron Lempke, who posted 14 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Holyoke suffered their biggest defeat since January 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 72-52 to Perkins County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dragons have suffered against the Plainsmen since January 22, 2019.

Chase County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Holyoke, they dropped their record down to 8-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
