Basketball Game Preview: Porter Cowboys vs. Pace Vikings

Porter hasn't had much luck against Pace recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Porter Cowboys will face off against the Pace Vikings at 7:30 p.m.

Porter came up short against Rivera on Monday, falling 64-43.

Despite their defeat, Porter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Eduardo Garza, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Joshua Shogreen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Pace's strategy against Donna on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pace blew Donna out of the water with a 54-24 final score. The win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Pace's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Porter might still be hurting after the 61-39 defeat they got from Pace in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Porter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
