Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Calvary Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dayton Greendevils a 15-0 shutout. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Josh Ruwe was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Cal Ruwe was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Calvary Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dayton only posted an OBP of .231.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dayton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Calvary Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Greendevils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
