Football Recap: Minarets Starts Season with Win Against Sierra

Minarets gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 60-6 victory over the Sierra Chieftains. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chieftains, too.

Torin Wolf had an outrageously good game as he threw for 313 yards and four TDs on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 130 yards and one score on only five carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Killian Paschell was another key player, rushing for 105 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minarets is headed away from home for the first time to take on Pacheco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra, they will head out to square off against Turlock Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
