Preview: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Alta Hawks
Having just played yesterday, the Snow Canyon Warriors will jump right back in to play the Alta Hawks at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Snow Canyon made easy work of Tooele and carried off a 66-40 victory. Given Snow Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Tooele is ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Snow Canyon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Mackay out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Mackay also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Ence, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Alta strolled past Bishop Gorman with points to spare last Thursday, taking the game 71-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Alta.
Snow Canyon's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Alta, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
