Softball Recap: Redwater Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Redwater won the last time they faced New Boston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dragons put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 10-3 win.

Addison Bruner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bruner was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Calhoon was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Karly Jo Brown was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Redwater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Redwater's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13-1. As for New Boston, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Coincidentally, Redwater and New Boston will both be playing De Kalb the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Dragons will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
