Baseball Recap: Vidalia Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Vidalia was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monterey Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 last Friday.

Vidalia has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Monterey, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15.

Looking ahead, Vidalia will square off against Avoyelles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Monterey, they will take on Franklin Parish at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
