Baseball Recap: Rancho Verde Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Rancho Verde Mustangs didn't have quite enough to beat the Grand Terrace Titans and fell 8-7. The loss was the Mustangs' first of the season.

Ethan Montolfo and Julian Dominguez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Montolfo went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Dominguez scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Dominguez a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was David Hernandez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rancho Verde fell to 2-1. As for Grand Terrace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coming up, Rancho Verde will be playing at home against Miller at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Terrace, they will head out on the road to challenge Arroyo Valley at 10:00 a.m. on March 1st.
