Softball Game Preview: Barbers Hill Eagles vs. Aledo Bearcats + How To Watch

The Barbers Hill Eagles will challenge the Aledo Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Barbers Hill sitting on four straight wins and Aledo on seven.

Barbers Hill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Leander with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 28 matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Aledo faced Melissa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bearcats won by a run and slipped past the Cardinals 5-4.

Tempe Perry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Breleigh Mayer was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Brooklyn Taloa was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Aledo lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.

Barbers Hill's record now sits at 40-4. As for Aledo, their record is now 31-10.

Barbers Hill beat Aledo 4-1 when the teams last played back in June of 2021. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
