Basketball Game Preview: Casey-Westfield Warriors vs. Robinson Maroons

Casey-Westfield is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to take on the Robinson Maroons at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Casey-Westfield has four straight wins, Robinson has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Casey-Westfield didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cumberland, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory.

Meanwhile, Robinson lost 65-40 to St. Joseph-Ogden on Tuesday. The game marked the Maroons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Casey-Westfield will need to focus on slowing down Andrew Sparks, one of several Robinson players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cruz Dunlap, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 12 points.

Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Casey-Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Everything came up roses for Casey-Westfield against Robinson in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 68-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
