Baseball Game Preview: Windermere Prep Lakers vs. Ocoee Knights

The Windermere Prep Lakers will venture away from home to face off against the Ocoee Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Windermere Prep's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Geneva hit Windermere Prep with a six-run first inning last Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lakers came up short against the Knights, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ocoee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out The Villages Charter 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 8, 2025.

Jaden Brown tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Ocoee's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Rojos, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Ocoee's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Windermere Prep, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Windermere Prep couldn't quite get it done against Ocoee when the teams last played back in February of 2018 as they fell 9-4. Can the Lakers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
