Baseball Game Preview: Southern Wayne Saints vs. North Lenoir Hawks

The Southern Wayne Saints will challenge the North Lenoir Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Southern Wayne saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell just short of Midway by a score of 8-7. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaeden Hinson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, North Lenoir beat North Duplin 7-3 on Monday.

Mason Sasser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, North Lenoir let Ethan Smith and Jayden Miller run wild. Smith went 2-for-3 with three runs, while Miller went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Miller has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carter Chadwick, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

North Lenoir has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Southern Wayne might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from North Lenoir in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
