Basketball Recap: Covenant Classical Comes Up Short

Covenant Classical fought the good fight in their overtime match against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots.

Leia Garrett was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy. Garrett is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alli Belk, who posted nine points and five steals.

Covenant Classical has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
